1) We're living in a simulation
We have no way for us 'insiders' to know anything about the simulation itself. We're kind of quarantined in this bubble with no possible way to communicate with the outside 'Aliens' or 'Gods' running this sim, although it depends on the physics that these creatures have allowed in our universe. This would inherently answer a lot of questions like, 'Why each physical constant has the exact value it has?', 'What caused the big bang?', 'Why are things, laws the way they are?' etc.
Although this raises the infamous causation argument, if our universe is the effect of an alien cause, then the same would apply to aliens, i.e. the aliens have to sort of be an effect. Then there should exist a cause for them. This sim within a sim starts to get incomprehensible.
2)No sim
We are immediately met with questions that were answered in the simulation universe. Although the question of causation goes away, a lot more still crop up.
A take away from this is that no argument is cogent enough and neither provides definitive answers to all our current questions.
