physicists, since they have an allure of 'discovering grandiose theories about the universe.' However, the reality is that their daily work is no less mundane than any other academic field, and the payoff is really what the work leads to.

In short, most of these answers depends on the individual, and you're a mentally weak individual who will not last through the storm if you think any of these things matter or even have any definitive answer

i've been in both... and i can tell you the amount of autism you will meet in mathematics is unchallenged. people playing Rock scissor spork (some kid literally brought a whole booklet with 100s of variations with him)
