This is what the U.K. is doing, trying to build herd immunity. But you can’t pick and choose who gets sick, so a lot of people are going to end up dying.
Countries should follow China, they quarantine sick people away from everyone else. The problem with staying home they found, is that the self quarantined infected end up getting their whole family infected, and that’s what makes everything worse.

But we can choose who we give treatment. Why not say that nobody over the age of 70 gets medical treatment anymore? That would cut out the biggest group of infected and everyone who still has a life to live could basically go on as usual

It's going to cause no more panic than shutting down our economies for indeterminate time. I live in Germany, we haven't done much yet but trains are going to go on a reduced schedule come next week and people who need to commute are freaking out. Once all of Europe is shut down like Italy for a while and no one can pay their bills anymore there's going to be riots

That's beyond dumb since there are no evidence that natural immunity is developed.
this even doesn't address the multiple strains that have been identified.
