You have to wash off hydrogen peroxide because it can damage healthy cells. For a no sterile water supply, use 99% IPA.
Footnote: I have read from material on cosmetic testing biologist that 70% rubbing alcohol is better as the extra water will dissociate killed bacteria but i have not read anything similar. So I still use 99% IPA

I took a microbiology lab and I remember the professor saying something about 70% being more effective than 99% at sterilizing lab equipment, so that's why they use it in labs. I think I remember them mentioning something along the lines of your reasoning.

70% is the preferred concentration because going higher causes a dramatic increase in evaporation rate. Which reduces exposure time and reduces effectiveness.

Don't use either; use a well-known antiseptic chemical or just warm soap and water. The warm soap and water might feel painful, but it is by far one of the best at home cleaning procedures for shallow wounds/cuts.

What are these well known antiseptics? What chemicals? I stock medical supplies and we bring every unit tons of alcohol and hydrogen peroxide based products. I've seen product labeled as antiseptic that don't have alcohol or h2o2 as the active ingredient, but can't recall what is in them.

Is chlorohexadine one? You know what, I'm at work now. After I'm done pooping I'll have a look.

Not Isopropanol for sure. IPA prevents your wounds from closing.
Peroxide or Ethanol solution are fine, but never use IPA.
Iodine is also good.

Hydrogen peroxide for cleaning the wound directly. Isopropanol for things you want to sterilize without having to blast it with a UV lamp. The isopropyl alcohol is also useful for cleaning electronics since it evaporates so quickly.

Clean your keyboard; they're generally dirtier than toilet seats if you don't.

underrated. saline is the best way to treat wounds. peroxide/alcohol just damages them and makes them take longer to heal
