Grasping the concepts of convergent vs divergent thinking, which can be roughly equated to interpolation vs extrapolation.
Learn to dissociate, transcend fear, learn to bridge together elements from all different kinds of ideas.
Embark of a solipsistic descent,
Get in touch with your inner value system and learn to filter, distort, translate, and offload inputs coming into your conscious mind (part of dissociation).
Learn methods of accessing your subconscious, like creative writing or abstract art (which most people think is just a bunch of shapes and colors, when it's really eg walking into a painting like it's a portal to that place).
Etc.
And.
Most importantly.
Unclamp.
Clamping goes far beyond the umbilical cord. To unclamp, one is also freeing his mind from imposed, false, and artificial structures. The kind of garbage we pick up from childhood and think is a matter of convenience, but, ultimately, is not.
Lastly I should mention metacognition. Stuff like memory palace, sorting memories, thinking about your faculties as an internal architecture. Getting rid of the ego and becoming your environment, mapping your internal world onto it, and therein, using it as an interface. Like imagine a gurgling brook as some part of you and you're exploring it or whatever, or the layout of your house, use your own reason.
They think they can clamp, many things and people think they can clamp. And often we come to clamp ourselves, it can seem necessary, a matter of functionality and utility, to self-clamp. I have struggled with this personally.
