Space and gravity work unironically like a pizzaiolo. There are plenty of irregular blobs of matter in space, asteroids, clouds, etc. But take a blob and give it a push so that it spins, or, gather around enough matter and what happends is that it evens out on all sides, thus becoming round-ish.
