So really context matters, and so does bias. Aerospace people will tell you fridges changed the way we consume and prepare food. Mechanical and civil people will tell you industry process and large scale transportation has changed our daily life and military presence. Materials peoples will tell you commonplace items are all made of something. Electrical people will point to communication systems, etc etc.
This similarly follows for math, physics, CS, chemistry, bio, etc.. so it’s meaningless to quantify what benefits “the most.” Just do what you like - if you want to help people, you’ll generally find a way
