Whenever i'm looking at the clock, i subconsciously have the exact time in mind just before looking at the clock. Might the brain actually be able to reliably track time subconsciously?
After the fourth or so time of noticing this i started trying to rule out some form of subconscious misperception about the actual order of events. I conditioned myself to, whenever i had the urge to look at the clock, say the time out loud in my mind before i could physically see it. Been doing that regularily for months now and it works at least 90% of the time, exact to the minute. On the other 10%, it varies from being just a few minutes close to sometimes waaay off.
Most of the time, several hours have passed since the last time i could have physically observed a clock. This goes even so far as to regularily waking up one or two minutes before my alarm goes off after eight hours of uninterrupted sleep. Also, if i feel like looking at the time during the day, it mostly happens to be at exact full or half hours.
Is any of this statistically significant? Have you had similar experiences? Could it be related to my le Asperger's?
