>25
>barely graduated HS
>barely passed CC
>retook prealgebra and beginning algebra 5 and 4 times each respectively, only passed with a C in both in the end
>now i want to be an engineer
The thing is, i'm naturally alright with math but i literally, literally literally literally literally never tried. I have to emphasize this because people will throw 'hurrdurr academics maybe just isnt for you buddy learn a trade' type of downtalking when i mention it, but when i say i never tried, I mean i literally from the age of 14-23 never even ATTEMPTED math. I drank 24/7 and smoked weed all those years and the second I stepped foot in any math class I just turned my brain 100% off.
That being said, I do understand a lot of pre-algebra concepts and i'm insanely quick with arithmetic, but now I wanna study linear algebra/precalc/trig etc and there's a lot of stuff that I'm missing
the problem is, I went to go to khan academy and do arithmetic/pre-algebra/algebra 1, but it's all too mixed. some of the shit is baby-level stuff for me that is too simple, and some stuff (quadratic formula, mixed numbers, etc) i'm clueless about.
Where should I start/how should I approach this? There's a million different fucking units for every little subject on here and i've been jumping around just picking ones i'm not positive about, but I keep getting worried that I'm forgetting/missing something before I move onto something else
should i just say fuck it and move onto college algebra w/ trig or am i gonna be doing some kind of engineering project one day and be laughed at by my coworkers because i don't know how to subtract/multiply mixed numbers
