Am HS Senior independently encountering the Gamma Function seriously for the first time.
What are some good n00b resources for investigating the gamma function, and particularly, the way that it is/was derived? There are plenty of "reverse engineering" demonstrations of it online, but I've yet to see something more "straightforward"- in the sense that n! Becomes Gamma(n), rather than Gamma(5) coinciding with 5!, or something along those lines.
Mathematics :DD
