Is it possible to receive sound before you it reaches you? Like say there was a mic that encoded sound as information a few miles away and you have a speaker connected to it by a wire that decodes it back to sound. Since electricity moves faster than sound wouldn't you hear it before the sound itself reaches you? Are there any military applications that utilize this, since many weapons are supersonic now?
