We on the other hand have a neocortex which does far more than simply analyzing what is being percived by our receptors,this part of the brain gives us creativity,ingenuity and everything else that we have and the other creatures don't. You do realize that there's no way to define thoughts either,right? The only connection between the hemispheres are synaptic in nature and the information that is being transmitted through acetylcolin (and the other neurotransmitters) can't be interpreted as anything other than a simple signal that would trigger the releasing of a hormone...in other words,synapses do not (and presumably can not) transmit thoughts.
