how? gene editing, environmental control, studying 'immortal' bacteria, Turritopsis dohrnii, etc.
if ^ doesn't work, mind uploading, cybernetics, crossing our fingers hoping some religion is correct
>why is aging not seen as a disease that needs to be cured?defeatism, nihilism, mental exhaustion, lack of courage, acceptance out of fear like sort of a stockholm syndrome towards death. the same mentality as "well that's the way we've always done it!"
aging isn't the disease, however, diseases are a byproduct of aging. we're tackling the flowers of aging while we should be ripping it out from the root. We work on heart disease, cancer research, etc.. when all of those become prevalent as a result of aging.
My true dream in life is to research anti-aging and immortality. I want to master everything necessary in the fight against aging (computer science, biophysics, chemistry, engineering, etc.)
I think at the very least by the end of the century we'll be able to significantly extend our lifespan. I might not wake up tomorrow, but I hope to God that I see the year 2100.
