I am post-doc in a chembio lab and discovered something worth patenting. I don't want to tell my professor about it because they unfortunately they don't share any of the patent money with the researchers.

My question is how would I go about turning this into a start up? I wouldn't need much. About 5k for chemicals, then the patent fees, which I don't know how much these runs, and then I would need access to instrumentation (i.e. nmr, UV/Vis).
