In other words, when he enters a state of hyper-bolism, his quills grow at a rate relative to the speed at which he operates, and when he slows down to operate on speeds more relatable to ours, his quills grow at the normal rate as well.
Also, he is able to somehow convert kinetic energy into complex proteins and carbohydrates-- probably through some sort of unknown mechanism, though I am willing to speculate it may be Eggmanian in nature.
