>>11460852>Much better than relying on questionnaires to decide what people are eating.Did you get what I said? Their study ultimately wasn't about dairy fat because it didn't look at the full spectrum of fats in dairy and their real world effects. In fact, it's designed to not show the effect of dairy by regressing out the fatty acids that cause problems.
>These all look like they were short in duration, we've been through this. That type of study doesn't need to last years. You feed people certain nutrients and you can see quite quickly how it affects their metabolic system.
>It's essentially looking down the road at long term pufa consumptionNo, it's not looking at pufa consumption at all, but body fat spilling out of fat cells into the blood
>"Effect of canola oil consumption on memory, synapse and neuropathology in the triple transgenic mouse model of Alzheimer’s disease"Mice bred with a genetic pre-disposition to developing alzheimer's, on one test out of 3, that involved coming to a Y-shaped path and choosing which way to go, alternated their path about 20% less than the control group. This isn't much to go by and, again, isn't worth trying to apply to humans.
>>11460771 So let's get this straight, you think a 21-day mouse study is sufficient in length to judge long term results, by a 5-year human study is too short? Make up your mind.
The ones I posted weren't mouse studies and looked at the effect of eating certain fats. The authors of the one human study you posted stated that the average follow-up time of 3.4 years wasn't long enough to document new cases of CHD within the study to then be analyzed. Human lifespans are quite a bit longer than mice and CHD takes quite a while to develop.
