Could I produce a small amount of phosgene(COCl2) by mixing together HCOOH + H2SO4 + NaClO in a flask?

Why doesn't it work tho?
Add in HCl too?
HCOOH + H2SO4 prdoces CO
H2SO4 + NaClO produces HClO + stuff
HClO + HCl produces Cl2
Cl2 + Co => Phosgene
Would obviously be contaminated with other stuff but shouldn't that work?

It might result in the production of some phosgene, but you have to consider the volumes of the precursor substances required for a successful chain of reactions. And there's also the equipment, you can't carry out titration without proper shit.
The chances of maiming or killing yourself increase if you don't consider these things.

It takes a lot of gas to make it worthwhile, I think there was an attack in Syria by the government a few years back. Either mustard or sarin, can't remember.
But my hunch is that if using chemical weapons isn't a common thing with terrorists, it's probably hard to do and costs too much for the number of people it can potentially kill.

Just buy chloroform and a UV bulb (not blacklight).
Exposure over time turns chloroform into phosgene.
You could create batches this way.
