>>11438660Its going to spread anon. You're not going to see a zombie movie enacted here because, as of yet, we have no reports of the infected rising from the dead and attacking others.
But yeah, it IS going to to spread to pretty much all the world at the current rate. We have no reasons to believe that its quarantinable at this stage given that only china had any luck with that, and that required Fascism that the western world is just too scared to use (You try and lock up a city in new york or california and you'll have every single black in the country screaming that its a racist plot to kill them all).
Our current hopes are that its spread can be slowed long enough for us to develop more effective methods for treating it and preventing pneuomatic death from it: A vaccine is AT LEAST 1-2 years away, so that's not happening in time to prevent this.
The good thing is, the vast majority of people are barely going to be affected more than the flu or a heavy cold, with some even being light cold level. The problem is that its STILL going to kill a large number of those with medical issues and the elderly, and 1-2% is still fucking large (For contrast, the flu kills less than .02% of those infected in the US).
Our biggest fears is that it will either mutate into a more deadly form before we can understand how to treat it, or that death numbers we have so far are unreliable (Iran for example is posting absurdly high death rates compared to china)
