This place, (I study engineering)
>half of my coursemates just want to fuck off to finance after graduating
>half are unbearable nerds that have been building robot dogs since the age of 5
>professors aren't given an opportunity to teach, they just prepare us written notes and the rest of the year we 'work independently'
>I've never had teaching in a group smaller than a classroom size (meanwhile in oxford and cambridge you get 1 on 1 weekly tutoring)
>I have never meaningfully spoken to the professors who have been teaching me for 4 years
>most of the students are private school kids for whom this is an extension of highschool
>they spend most of their time throwing fashion shows and discovering themselves as DJs
>theres a few brilliant people who made it here against all odds and they're all just waiting to graduate and gtfo of here
