Just finished cs degree undergrad with 2.9/4.0GPA (first year was trash). Currently considering going back to uni to do a math degree to go with my cs degree if I don't get this job.
I would like to get a job doing some operational technology development or scientific programming. Building software for space craft would be cool.
Been a while since I've formally done math problems, most of my problem solving has been done while programming or planning something.
So I'm currently working through a precalc book from the sci wiki to see if I have a strong grasp of the fundamentals. From doing discrete I recognise some things but it's a bit different.
I agree that I pick up topics slower than I was when I was 17, but I'm far more diligent and experienced (23 now). I was a big half asser, which meant skipping over important stuff that I suffered for later.
Because I've solved some fairly complex problems with programming, my experience is helping me learn math concepts.
