Well, assuming that future outbreaks of the virus, and there will be future outbreaks, there's a high chance cytokine storms happen. Of course it won't be spanish flu bad, but theoretically wiping out 5% of the world population now and sterilizing 25% of it for down the line would definitely reduce our carbon emissions for the future.

There was British series named Utopia. Brilliant creation. Narrative about flu and vaccine, but that you will see after few first series.
When i started to see more news about Corona virus, got that weird DejaVu feeling, almost like "tripping balls", and remembered Utopia.

That’s the biggest issue. I’m thinking genetic engineering can help people become less war-like and greedy. If not genetics, then the moral law will be of that nature.
