The first guy to call 470nm light blue could've called it 'sky', since the sky for all intents and purposes has a 470nm component in it. Therefore today you and me would've called this picture 'dark sky' and black. The naming is just a convention. If you still don't understand, then consider the fact that sites like Google, Apple, Reddit, 4chan all have names because remembering their ip addresses is hard. Hence the idea of naming is relative.
