#1 thing you HAVE to do is work problems, work a bunch every week and work them until you know how to look at them on a test and identify what to do and which equations to use. it fucking sucks cock but you gotta do it
reading the textbook also helps, but if youre enrolled in other classes it's pretty impractical to try to read it word for word. what i did usually was just read the summaries of the chapters and work problems after
if you're friends with any people from classes above you, see if they have any of the professor's old tests, but DO NOT JUST LEARN THE ANSWERS cause he will likely change them and youll be FUCKED. instead learn what kinds of problems he puts on there and learn to work them.
finally if all else fails just try going to any sort of supplementary instruction/tutoring or even going to the professor's office hours. you definitely have room to rebound your grade so if you take initiative on it you'll be golden. gl
