>>11430472This is a massive load. Dude has a masters in bullshit. Drinking warm water is effective for all viruses? Holy fuck, cure HIV with this one weird trick! It can survive on your hands for a lot longer than five minutes, and can remain intact on most surfaces for days. It is absolutely not inactivated at 27C. Funny how he says it can survive on "metal" surfaces for "at least 12 hours". It will be rapidly inactivated by silver, copper and aluminum, but can survive on cool stainless steel for several days. Wash with "bacterial" soap? This guy is so full of shit. Antibacterials have no effect on it. Use regular soap and water or alcohol based hand sanitizer. Killed at just 27C? That would make it wildly different than every other coronavirus, which is extremely unlikely. Other coronaviruses are affected by temperature, but a severe reduction in activity is only observed at temperatures of up to 40C, which shortens the inactivation time from many days to many hours when the relative humidity is high. But at low RH you should only expect a log 3 reduction at 48 hours even at 40C. I wouldn't touch a heavily contaminated surface with anything less than a log 3 reduction, and I'd still wash my hands after handling one.

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2863430/The number of environmental considerations make any recommendation to do some simple thing regarding temperature irresponsible. Only sure things should be recommended. One sure thing is to wash your hands. This is extremely effective! Use alcohol sanitizer, also extremely effective. A log 4 reduction can be seen in one minute of exposure to 80% ethanol. Another sure thing is the use of a full face respirator. Half face masks only have an 80% effectiveness. That's leaving an enormous risk. Full face respirators with a rubber seal and an N or P100 rated particulate filter are over 99% effective. Leave those disposables to the sick people to keep them from putting viral particles in the air.
