Reading PhD thesis

So I'm doing my undergrad thesis and basically I really want to impress my phd supervisor. He's well connected and smart and I want to loosely specialize in what he's specialized in. He's also good looking and has nice mannerisms too. A great guy. Although my actual advisor who is in charge of me is nicer. But I really want this phd guy to like me.

He's given me a lot of stuff to do but I've asked him to give me extra reading material that can help me for my thesis. But he didn't give me any. Does this mean he's testing me? Should I look up his publishing history and download all the stuff including his phd thesis and read it? Maybe then I can quote the stuff he's done during our discussions to impress him?
