>>11425221The Chinese have been reviving old production and distribution lines for the dated anti-malarial drug Chloroquine. It's been known to have some anti-viral properties too and came up as being quite effective at reducing the severity of the new nCoV19, alongside remdesivir which is an experimental new drug.
The challenge is that getting your hands on Chloroquine is quite tricky if not impossible in many places these days as its been phased out due to resistant malaria strains and its hefty side-effect profile. So in a lot of countries its likely not stocked in any appreciable quantity. Old school quinine sulfate from Cinchona bark might be an alternative but the side effects can be worse, and I doubt anyone would have tested it on nCoV19, preferring its safer synthetic cousin and analogues.
Anti-pyretics would likely be a mainstay, ibuprofen for sure. I heard seizures are common with the fevers people are having.
