If you’ve been on EVA, and you’re going to enter a pressurized habitat or otherwise pressurized environment, you can be cleaned of perchlorates with a simple water washing in the airlock. The water can be recycled with ease and the perchlorate waste stored and used to create oxygen gas. It may be desirable to process large amounts of Martian regolith purely to extract the perchlorates for this purpose.
