Is it in poor taste to leave a research lab after they've effectively "trained" you? I'm an undergraduate research who has done 1 semester as a volunteer and currently doing research for credit. I just don't feel excited to come into my research lab at all and struggle to stay awake during lab meetings.
The lab I'm in has a very stale environment (nobody talks to each other at all) and I recently met a plant pathologist who I instantly felt was easy to talk to. I'm thinking of joining the plant pathologist's research lab after I finish my semester. I don't know anything about plant pathology/fungus, but I guess I can bring the skills I've learned. I'm a junior right now and will be a senior next year.
