Why did you pursue graduate studies/research?

I always wanted to do research. At the end of my undergrad, I had an interesting research opportunity and very little idea what jobs I'd even want to apply for.

I like the amount of freedom I have, nobody gives a shit about what I do day to day as long as I can come up with interesting questions to answer and methods to answer them, which is working out so far. There's also lots of opportunities for travel and (of course) learning, again with the possibility to adjust the directions of these somewhat to my liking.

I didn't get any job offers despite having a 3.9 GPA.

Basically nothing since I was already doing research as an undergrad. Graduate courses are the same bs as undergrad courses. Retarded professors who can barely speak English, lectures that aren't worth going to, self-teaching, and exams that you cram for.
