Fetishes are GxE: most people with fetishes have a genetic predisposition to them. That doesn't mean that the environment doesn't play a role. Usually the environment aids fetishes by making you scared or curious about something. For some reason if you are predisposed to a fetish AND you are scared/curious about it you are more likely to start masturbating to the thought of it which means fetish time. Also a lot are porn induced now, but why do some people watch scat and some don't? Genetic predisposition.
Also the question is always: "what fetish relevant genes are in the gene pool". Homosexuality might be genetic more of the time than a rubber fetish. It's concievab;e that shit genes make men like men but maybe not something as novel as rubber.
