>>11403384The issue is blown way out of proportion. CRISPR is better than any other gene editing technology so far, but it's still pretty messy. It can potentially introduce all sorts of problems through frame shifts, and it's not capable of the large scale gene editing required for shit like designer babies. It could potentially prevent single gene autosomal diseases, but as of right now the best use for it is studying biological systems by making alterations in them.
