I lost some credits because the local school I went to awarded 5 quarter hours for each section of Calculus while the big state university I transferred to only awarded 4 quarter hours per section of Calculus. Since I didn't have to retake anything, it really didn't matter. The frustrating thing for a few of my classmates who had transferred to the local college was when they transferred in their calculus courses that were 3 semester hours each and were given 4.5 quarter hours, making them 0.5 quarter hour short for each calculus class. IIRC, the math department allowed them to take a junior or senior level math course as an elective to make up for the missing 0.5 quarter hours per calculus course.
