We don't know if microrobots capable of having a sizeable impact can be practically manufactured at all. Making really complicated micromachines capable of having a sizeable impact carrying out chemical reactions with individual atoms/molecules in a controlled manner. Likely the best way to do this is with mechanosynthesis, IE, carrying out reactions by mechanically placing individual atoms and molecules. This might not be possible or practical. Answering this question will involve some very difficult lab work. Some of the advancements to make this possible might come about through other tangentially related fields.

we already HAVE molecular machinery. biochemical processes are molecular, and some are even mechanical (pic related, kinesin). Recently, people have been making artificial enzymes by making caged molecular catalysts. Inorganic nanostructures can be made by self-assembly.

and the inorganic structures we can make are limited. Good luck making a structure out of something that reacts with water. You won't be able to make incredibly small computers with biochemistry and nor will you be able to make machines with ridiculous power density. In addition it takes a great amount of effort to engineer biochemistry.
