To predict how proteins fold. Genetics is a mature field. The hurdles towards progress in this field are legal, not scientific. Proteins are another story. If the protein folding problem could be solved, then it would be possible to cure all diseases.

Finally on p.17 there's a protein with some potential. Tomorrow when I have access to a graphics card that can run PyMol without causing epilepsy, I'll make sure to measure where non-polar hydrogen are less than 2.8 angstroms away from each other.

This image confuses cause with effect. Hydrogen bonds surround the hydrophobic core. They cause non-polar hydrogens to get squished together. Every time a hydrogen bond forms, the hydrophobic core gets squished more. Hydrogen bonds 180 degrees from each other and the non-polar hydrogens closest to each other (i.e 2.0 angstroms) are the most causally relevant. Also, if there's a particularly dense cluster of hydrophobic interactions, hydrogen bonds 180 degrees away from each other and the hydrophobic cluster are the most causally relevant by a wide margin.
