A lot of scientists I'm friends with are pretty active on social media, and it seems important to self promote and network, even in fields where success is fairly closely tied to performance.

I'm not in STEM strictly speaking but am partway through a geoscience undergrad and am looking to advance in the (natural history) museums sector in which I'm working currently, but I thought I'd ask what you guys do to work social media to your advantage?
