Not all stars are equal in size or energy output so saying "harnessing the power of their own star" is nonsense since there are also 2 star systems.

Also the obvious realization is that energy production is bullshit.
We are not magically producing energy from our perpetual motion machines. We are burning carbohydrates who are fossilized remains of long dead animals and plants. A planet that did not have this fossil accumulation would not generate energy like we are doing here.
Also all fossil fuels will run out the faster we use them so saying energy production like its something good is a mistake the more we burn up our fossil fuel deposits and "generate more energy" the faster we will exhaust them all and its back to the middle ages for us all.
