I was just thinking the other day about how much water I drink (a lot) and how without enough salt it can lead to Hyponatremia. Now I do normally get enough salt in the day, but because I intermittent fast I typically don't get much food in me until the evening. By that time I've consumed many liters of water with no electrolytes. How does my body maintain its electrolyte balance even when fasting for days, when supposedly nutrients like magnesium/sodium/potassium are not stored like vitamins ADEK?
