I took oxycodone 5 years ago after dental surgery and felt very good. I remember it vividly. Why does a drug induce a feeling that normal human experience can’t replicate?

I was on them for 6 months once. It was absolutely horrible, first the side effects; primarily constipation. Then the high; feeling good despite not having done anything worthy of feeling well about, all the while being in the most unwell situation. That was the most disgusting thing about it, who the hell would be content with being bedridden and health in shatters just because of some drug?
Addiction would only be understandable and pitiable for those with persistent mental trauma since childhood as a reasonable cause for low mental fortitude. Otherwise there aren't many excuses for whatever mental state that causes proneness to addiction that aren't genetic and therefore innate defects.

Euphoria in response to opioids is a sign someone is an NPC. If you are at a high level of sentience, opioids have no effects other than tiredness and some inebriation.

He's right. I was prescribed opioids once and I was expecting to find bliss and accordingly took huge doses of it. I didn't even experience a mild elation in my state of being. Anyone who finds them psychologically rewarding is sublevel of humanity.
