Imagine a society where people are able to increase their intelligence using technology to become hyper intelligent beings. They have technology that is capable of creating large numbers of people. They have technology that can hide themselves if they want to. They mostly spend their time working on increasing their intelligence. In a society where people hide themselves large numbers of people can be created by a hidden torturer and tortured. I believe that people would create an exposed society rather than hiding and creating the opportunity for torture.
