The problem you have with thinking about the treadmill is that you think the wheels affect the motion of the aircraft.
The wheels spin freely. The treadmill will make them spin, but in an ideal case they don’t have any resistance applied by the aircraft, and so the only force affecting the aircraft’s horizontal motion is the engine/prop. To see what I’m talking about, put a toilet roll on a piece of paper, and put a skewer through it and hold onto that. If you suddenly pull the paper, it will start rolling, but barely any force will translate to the skewer that you’re holding.
