Hello really curious guy here
I don't know if I am smart or not.
Based on my Q (106) I am not smart. At least not in the matematical-logical way.
But I have always been so curious about things.
Today I would like to have your help on somenthing.
Occasional use mirtazapine for insomnia. here.
Mirtazapine has an half life of 20-40 hours. This means that to eliminate even half of the drug the body needs between 20 and 40 hours
I have red which recepors does Mitazapine target: the sedative effects come from it being an H1 antagonist
I have tried it yesterday for the first time.
7.5 mg.
It's such a potent sedative. Especially if you are not used to it. Usually I take Bendryl and doxilamine which they are antihistamines too..but they are weacker if compared to Mirtazapine.
7.5 mg Mirtazapine knocked me out in 1.5 hour... slept 9 hour.
Today I feel groggy and the sleepy...so it's not useful.. because I need to be awake in order to work properly not groggy .
This groggy feeling happens because it lasts 20 hour in the body
So I have tought: Since mirtazapine is an H1 antagonist... what if I add a H1 agonist such as Armodafinil to contrast the effects of mirtazapine?
Swalled 80mg Armodafinil sublingual and I feel better.
Now I have the question: Since mirtazapine is an antagonist of H1 (basically inhibite the receptor from releasing histamine) am I doing good adding an histamine agonist (helps the body to release histamine) such as Armodafinil?
Cause I have drunk 5 cups of expresso coffee and still felt shit. But when took rmodafinil felt a little bit better
Can some high biomed IQ explain to this little bran why does this happen? Pure curiosity here
