I can't doublethink my way into this one.This, it helped me understand it. Remember, previous anon, that the host opening a door (or, say, 998 doors) is giving you new information. The host KNOWS where the prize is, so he is definitely not opening that door.
Say the prize is behind door A
1) you picked A (1/3), hose can open B or C, either way swapping = definite lose
2) you picked B (1/3), host MUST open C, swapping = definite win
3) you picked C (1/3), host MUST open B, swapping = definite win
2/3 of the time, swapping = win
