So I was sitting and eating on campus and I've noticed three microwaves and thought to myself, will it be more efficient, on average, to make one huge line and wait for any of the three microwaves to be available or make three lines for each microwave? Assume instantaneous swapping between previous microwave user, random waiting times, and a very large amount of people. How many people will be served more? One huge line or three lines for their respective microwave? This has been bothering me for quite while. Anyone here to help prove which one is better?
