>>11370582Indeed, this is a bizarre, frankly, demanding and needy way of thinking. They look at the orderly genesis and fate of a mesenchymal cell in the the developing fetus, and they claim it has no "purpose" because it has no "intelligent creator". It is created at a certain time, and so long s the fetus continues to exist, it meets a preordained fate. And yet it has no purpose to them.
Why does it have no purpose to them? Because when you broaden the scope, they are but a cell. And the idea that they're here for a reason, and even that man itself's entire existence is just a transient step in a greater process, unnerves them deeply. It's mostly about desire. The idea that they have self determination and aren't interconnected with a broader system fools them into thinking they are free, which is something they psychologically require.
In my case I can think about it in both ways. I don't know or need it be a certain way, I make no demands of this place. The irony is that these "no purpose" sorts, are in fact, religious and dogmatic. Solipsism is the only rational core position, no matter what branch or layer, lens, you choose to live your daily life through.
