parallel universes

If you do the Schrödinger's cat experiment on yourself, in the scientists eyes you'd be dead in one universe and alive in another, but in your eyes, you can't die since, if you die in one, you're still conscious in the other. i don't even know how to explain it properly, because i suck at explaining things
what if that didn't just happen for the experiment? what if, every time you die, your consiousness chooses the parallel universe in which you're still alive, and you can't remember anything from the parallel universe in wich you died, but the one you're in now is like nothing happened at all, because you now have all the memories from the new one, which means, you're living life to the longest possible amount of time. But one day, in one universe, humanity figures out a safe way to manipulate your genes, and they manage to stop aging, - as lobsters do - and there will be a parallel universe in which they test it on you, or you get the treatment or surgery for it or whatever.

anons, I don't want to live forever. and I can't even ask what to do, because there is nothing to do about it
