Do 'functional disorders' like chronic fatigue syndrome, fibromyalgia, etc actually exist as a primary organic process or are they psychosomatic / somatoform? I know they've found certain biomarkers for some of them but that's also true of depression. It seems like something that mostly affects upper-middle class white women and neurotic men.
