B.S. in chemistry here. I'm feeling very jaded about job prospects with this degree. I began and dropped out of a Ph.D. program right after it and right now I'm settled into a 7 month contract making $20/hr doing lab tech work, which isn't terrible.
The problem is aspirations and how mundane my work is. It's piss easy and I really don't want to do this for longer than 1-2 years. I've applied to a research M.S. program in medical biochemistry, I just fear it may lead to me further spinning my wheels after searching for jobs which may fit post-grad.
I'm just seeking meaningful, challenging work. I don't know if there's any of you who have been in similar situations. Did you get out of it? What did you do? Does it get better?
