Hello everyone, was wondering if I could ask for some help. This morning after my first shift at work I went back to my car to find it iced over by freezing rain. I just broke my ice scraper the other day so and have yet to replace it. I grabbed a soda can to start a break in the ice so I could slide the rest off and managed to scrape the aluminum off the can onto the windshield. I knew aluminum was softer as to not scratch the glass but I didnt think that it would scrape into the glass surface.

I was looking to use something like a drain cleaner to dissolve the aluminum. But I've found that it could also dissolve the glass, if its at a high enough temperature.

If I'm using a small amount in temperatures at or around freezing point will it still damage the glass?
