It seems they probably had fairly simple brains, but we know some anomalcarids were predatory, so they may have had well developed vision systems. I wonder if they could keep track of their heading visually like know fruit flies are capable of. There is some evidence that anomalocarids may have been passively stable, so perhaps they may not have needed very complicated vision systems. And perhaps predatory pursuit might have been accomplished through simple proportional guidance. Just curious, because they're some very interesting work going on scanning in fruit fly brains.
