While wormholes exist on paper, making them in real life is a completely different problem. The amount of energy needed to keep a wormhole open is insane. To do so you would need something with negative mass. Which we clearly havent found yet, however in saying that we still have a lot to discover in the universe, so you never know. The maths around wormholes is still awesome though.
